Plan on roughly 2 to 3 hours away from your hotel, transfers included. The basic oil massage lasts about 20 minutes; the timing of the other stages varies slightly between hamam locations.

Yes, provided a parent comes along. Children from 4 to 10 pay €13; under-4s go free. The massage parts of the programme are meant for grown-ups, so give us your children's ages when booking — what they take part in is then confirmed by the hamam.

Yes — put the two of you on one booking, and you are collected from your hotel together. Traditional hamams keep separate sections, so how you're looked after during the programme follows the hamam's own arrangement. If staying together matters to you, ask us before you book.

Swimwear, light clothes for before and after, flip-flops or comfortable footwear, a change of underwear, a hairbrush and water. The hamam provides a towel, a peştemal wrap and slippers — bring your own towel only if you prefer it.

Not for everyone. Pregnancy, a heart or circulatory condition, trouble coping with heat and humidity: in any of these cases we advise against it. If you have a skin condition, unusually high or low blood pressure, a recent injury or operation, or any other medical condition, check with a doctor beforehand and mention it to the hamam before you start.
