Is a Turkish Bath in Alanya Worth It?
A fair question before you give a few hours of your holiday to it. Here is what you get, what it costs in money and time, and who would be better off doing something else.

If you want to try a real Turkish bath without organising anything yourself, yes: €23 per adult covers the whole basic programme and the ride from your hotel and back. It includes the heat of the steam room and sauna, the kese, the foam, an oil massage (aromatic, around 20 minutes), the hamam's towel, peştemal and slippers, and a rest before you leave: roughly 2 to 3 hours door to door. Nothing is paid online, and you can cancel free of charge until 24 hours beforehand. Skip it if you are pregnant, have heart or circulation trouble, or struggle in heat and humidity.

Who should think twice
Health and safety in the hamam goes through these points one by one.
- Pregnancy, a heart or circulatory condition, or difficulty with heat and humidity: we advise against the hamam.
- A medical condition, high or low blood pressure, a skin condition, or a recent injury or operation: check with your doctor first, and tell the hamam before you start.
- If a long spa massage is the main thing you want, look at the massage upgrades first — they are not yet bookable online, so ask us.
- If you would like to choose one particular hamam: the location is set by your hotel's area, not picked by the guest.
The time it takes

Hamam or hotel spa?
